About Me

Raiquaichia Raybon is a dedicated educator and advocate for students with special needs, currently serving as an NES Algebra 1 and Strategic Learning teacher in Houston Independent School District (HISD). With a strong commitment to supporting diverse learners, Raiquaichia implements Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) while ensuring that students’ accommodations are met in line with the New Education System’s standards. Her journey in education began as an Advanced Placement Algebra 1 and 8th-grade math instructor, where she also worked as the general education teacher for the special education department at her school.

Before joining HISD, Raiquaichia played a pivotal role as the multicultural liaison for Spring Independent School District, where she worked to bridge cultural gaps and promote inclusivity within the school system. She has always believed in the power of education to transform lives, and this belief is rooted in her own academic and personal experiences.

Raiquaichia earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Prairie View A&M University, after initially obtaining an associate's degree in the same field from Austin Community College. She completed an impactful internship with Children of Diversity in Houston, where she worked closely with young people and families, gaining valuable insight into the challenges faced by underserved communities. This experience ignited her passion for improving the educational system and led her to pursue a career where she could advocate for and support students with unique needs.

A mother and a veteran of the United States Army, Raiquaichia’s life experiences have shaped her into a compassionate leader who believes in the importance of nurturing both individuals and the environment around us. She is passionate about people, advocating for social justice, and fostering a better world for future generations.

Looking forward, Raiquaichia is committed to continuing her academic journey, with plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Education and Social Work. Her goal is to further her knowledge and expertise to continue advocating for systemic change and improved support for students and families in the education system.
